PE Power exam prep options compared
There are three kinds of PE Power exam prep: the official NCEES practice exam, video courses (PPI, School of PE, Electrical PE Review, Engineering Pro Guides, Study for FE) and question banks (fetope, CastorPrep, PhasorPrep). They range from a $59.95 practice exam to course packages over $2,000, and from monthly subscriptions to one-time passes. Below are nine options side by side, with each price linked to the vendor's own page.
Prices and features checked October 17, 2026 on each vendor's own site; they change, so confirm before you buy. PhasorPrep made this page and is one of the options. We list what each vendor publishes and do not rank them. PhasorPrep is not affiliated with NCEES or with any vendor listed.

What PhasorPrep does not have
- A smaller bank: 83 published questions. Several options above state hundreds or thousands.
- No Electrical Safety questions yet; study that area from the codes.
- No live classes, no instructor and no tutoring.
- No printed books. You use your own copy of the NCEES Reference Handbook and the codes.
- A new site, so there is no long record of past users.
How to choose
- If you want teaching: a video course. Compare the access length you need with the monthly price, since monthly plans add up over a 3 to 6 month study period.
- If you want exam-style practice: the NCEES practice exam, the PDF practice exams, or a question bank.
- Before you pay: use the free trials and sample questions above, and read the refund and retake conditions.
- Whatever you pick: practise with the same Reference Handbook and code editions you get on exam day (see the handbook guide).
