PE Power practice exam: a timed, computer-based practice test
A timed simulation of the computer-based PE Power exam: a half exam of 40 questions in 4 hours, or a full exam of 80 questions in 8 hours, at 6 minutes a question like the real exam. The questions are original and drawn from every published question by the exam's area weights. When you submit, you get your score by area, your time on each question and every worked solution. Practice exams are part of the PE Power Pass, $79 for 183 days; the diagnostic, 20 questions in 2 hours, is free.
It is practice, not a prediction of your exam result: NCEES does not publish a fixed passing score. PhasorPrep is not affiliated with NCEES.

How close it is to the real exam
What works the same way:
- One question at a time, with previous and next, a countdown and a submit with confirmation.
- Flag for review, and a navigator that jumps to any question or shows only the flagged or unanswered ones.
- The full exam has the real exam's length and pace (exam facts), with questions spread across the knowledge areas by their weight on the exam.
- Questions are multiple choice or numeric entry, worked with the handbook, the codes and your own calculator.
What does not, so you can plan around it:
- Electrical Safety questions are not published yet, so questions come from the other eight knowledge areas. The real exam has 10–15 Electrical Safety questions; study them from the codes.
- There is no onscreen calculator and no onscreen handbook. Use the approved calculator you will take, and open your own copy of the NCEES PE Power Reference Handbook beside it (handbook and calculator guide).
- The full exam runs as one 8 hours block: it does not split into two parts and has no scheduled break, and the clock keeps running if you step away. In the real exam you review and submit the first part after about half of the questions and cannot return to it, and the appointment includes a scheduled break.
- The real exam also has alternative item types besides multiple choice. The layout here has no NCEES branding.

The rules
- The clock runs on our server and cannot be paused: closing the tab does not stop it.
- Your answers and flags save as you go. Come back to the same exam until time runs out.
- When time runs out, the exam is submitted with the answers you saved.
What you get when you submit
- Your score, the time you used and how many questions you flagged.
- Correct answers by knowledge area, as a chart and a table, and the area to practise next.
- Your time on each question, charted against an even pace of 6 minutes a question.
- Every question with your answer, the key and the worked solution (and its video solution, where there is one), filtered by all, incorrect, flagged or area.
- Your score history across practice exams, once you have taken two.
